About the role

As a live-in carer, every day is different. Your main responsibilities revolve around supporting the client, recording and reporting relevant information, and being part of our team.

Your key responsibility is to support our clients in all areas of life. For example, you may be asked to assist with basic household chores (e.g. cooking, cleaning, running errands, laundry), personal care (e.g. washing, dressing, toileting), getting out and about (e.g. visiting social events, appointments, or going on outings), medication management, or companionship (e.g. chatting, playing games).

In addition, you have a responsibility to record and report important events that occur while you are staying with the client. For example, you will be expected to record every time you help with medication, any financial transactions you make on behalf of the client, or other relevant client information such as changes in their condition or safeguarding concerns.

Part of your role also includes being a member of our team. We are a small, strong team, and we like to get to know you and work closely with you. We have regular team meetings, we hold brainstorm sessions where we discuss how we can look after our clients and our live-in carers the best we can, and we touch base with you regularly to ask how you are doing and how we can help you.

A bit about you

Are you an optimistic, reliable person and would you like to support our client make the most out of the day? Then please get in touch.

You will need…

  • The right to live and work in the UK.

  • A valid driving licence and your own car.

  • References. We ask all candidates who have been offered a job to provide at least two references.

  • To complete an enhanced DBS (criminal record) check. We are obliged to check for a criminal record if we offer you a job, but previous offences by no means mean that we cannot employ you. Find out how we recruit people who have a criminal record

  • No care experience is required (although it does help!) – we will offer you the training you need to feel confident in your role.

You can expect…

  • Thorough training – we will make sure you are well prepared for the role.

  • Flexibility – you and the client agree how you would like to work together.

  • Each day, you will have a three-hour break which you can spend as you please.

  • We offer competitive pay rates, ordinarily from £639.80 to £816.48 a week (pay rates as of 1 April 2020).

  • You are not alone – we are here to support you.

How to apply

We employ all our carers, which means that we are able to match our clients with a carer who they like and trust, and that you will have the benefits and security that come with employment.

If it so happened that the client you would like to support is no longer available, we would love to introduce you to other people who would appreciate you support. If you think you are the right person for the role, do not hesitate to get in touch with us!
