Have you lost your job due to corona virus? We need you – become a Live-in Carer!
The corona virus puts many people at risk of losing their jobs, especially people who are self-employed or working in hospitality and culture sectors. The care sector, however, will be stretched to support and protect those at risk from catching the virus. To all those who have lost their jobs – you can make an enormous contribution by becoming a carer and supporting those who need it most.
The coming months, we will probably need all the help we can get to support those who are vulnerable and at risk of catching the virus. Some people will need help doing the shopping or keeping the house in order, others need support with medication or a medical condition, and many people may simply want some company during lonely days.
About the role
As a Live-in Carer, you live with the client and are available day and night to help out where needed. Usually, you will stay with the client for a number of weeks and then have a period off (like 2 weeks ON – 2 weeks OFF, or a similar variety).
We employ all our carers, which means you have the benefit of holiday pay, sick pay, and the option of a pension. We pay on a monthly basis, with pay rates ranging from £639.80 to £816.48 a week (pay rates as of 1 April 2020).
How will we protect you?
Before you go out into the community, we will make sure you are thoroughly trained. You will receive a (fully paid and certificated) six-day training, in which we pay special attention to how you can keep yourself safe from infection, how you can help others without putting them (and yourself) at risk, and how you can prevent the virus from spreading.
About Kemble at Home
We like to think we are rather unique. Why? Because we have good attitude, and we are proud of it. In 2019, we won the Care Employer Award at both the Great British Care Awards and the Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards. We work hard to create a place where we can all feel safe, work hard, and have fun.
We have a strong, loyal team of optimistic carers, and we are looking for positive, can-do personalities who want to get out there and help others – even when times get tough. Do you keep your head cool under stress,
can you calm others and do you have a matter-of-fact, get-on-with-it mentality? Then you will probably feel very much at home in our team!
What do you need?
The right to live and work in the UK.
A valid driving licence and your own car.
